What You Need to Know Before Visiting Krabi, Thailand

0

Located on the west coast of southern Thailand, Krabi provides an idyllic escape where you can enjoy both beachside bliss and thrilling adventures. If you are contemplating a trip to this picturesque destination, here are some insights that will come in handy.

Best Times to Visit

For optimal weather with plenty of glorious sunshine, visit between November and February, the perfect time for sunbathing, water sports and exploring. Since this is the peak tourist season, book your accommodation ahead. That said, don’t discount a trip during the hot season (March to May) or rainy season (June to October); while you will experience hotter temperatures or more rain, you can still enjoy diverse things to do, while the hotel rates and the crowds will be less as well.

Where to Stay

Amongst the popular places to stay are Krabi Town and Ao Nang Beach though as you would expect, there will be more tourists in those areas. For sublime seclusion, however, consider getaways to Phi Phi Island; resort deals are on offer here at properties like SAii Phi Phi Island Village set beside a sun-kissed private beach. At such resorts, you can look to enjoy the comforts of a beachfront suite or hillside pool villa, diverse dining options, holistic spa rituals, access to a PADI-certified 5-star dive centre and plenty of activities.

Things To Do

While you could spend your days lazing on the shore, there are various fun escapades too; these include water sports such as snorkelling, diving, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. One of the best things to do in Krabi would be to visit the enchanting Maya Bay which has reopened for tourists and is easy to reach from Phi Phi Island. You can also go on island hopping excursions on a longtail boat to places like Monkey Bay, visit the Tiger Cave Temple and head to the Klong Thom Hot Springs.

What to Pack

When it comes to packing, include your favourite swimwear, comfy casual attire made from breathable fabrics, flip-flops and shoes or sneakers if you plan to go exploring; for visiting religious sites like temples, ensure you wear something that covers bare shoulders and legs. Also, pack lots of sunscreen, as well as a good pair of sunglasses and a sunhat or cap. A waterproof bag will come in handy when going island hopping, while a travel adapter will be useful since you are likely to have various digital devices!
