Galle Face Green

Sigiriya

If you are hoping to venture beyond the hotels in Sri Lanka, hop on a train and head to Sigiriya. This ancient fortress, known as the Lion’s Rock, stands 660 feet tall and features magnificent panoramic views. Along the walls of the rock, you will find frescoes of beautiful women painted with vibrant colours. Explore the sprawling historical gardens, terraces and remnants of a palace as you delve into the island’s history.

Yala National Park

Yala National Park is known for the abundance of leopards within its premises. Taking a safari tour could heighten your chances of seeing them, along with some elephants, spotted deer and water buffaloes.

Nuwara Eliya

Prepare to be greeted by cool wind, colonial architecture and expansive tea plantations when you reach Nuwara Eliya. Take a tour around a tea factory and sample the world’s most exquisite tea while learning about the production process. You could also escape to the misty realms of Horton Plains National Park, where you will find an abundance of flora and fauna in addition to an astounding waterfall.
